1st grade does timeline - for the moment best manual

Mary Ann-- MI school had board with Dewey cards so kids could take card to area of NF collection

KR did Glogster with 3rd grade (Boulevard teachers asked so it could be used with animal reports), 4th graders too.
Primary sources : BO did staff development where everyone brought artifact that represented heritage/culture. Teachers lined up in 2 rows and explained to a partner what it meant to you (timer to change partners)
LO does a Me Museum (5 artifacts, plus...)
Use activity like this to introduce primary sources.

Set up tables for topics (stack of books on table by topic--natural disasters, genres), have kids do post it notes with 1 concept they didn't know or identify characteristics. Set buzzer to have them move from table to table.
